Score: Concrete floor 1, Owen 0
The hardwoods in the new house have been stripped, and we are going to just seal them and leave them their natural color. As for the paneling and walls? I dunno. Any suggestions not involving a sledgehammer are welcome.
We move one week from today, so it will be a mad dash to the finish. But we are so excited! And I met with the couple who is (subject-verb agreement issue there?) buying our little Homewood bungalow, and I'm confident we are leaving it in good hands. Yay!
Post edit: While I was trying to write this post, Coby got sick and Owen got bored with eating his oatmeal and started throwing it. Did you know flung oatmeal looks a whole lot like cat puke?

Sheetrock is behind the paneling but you might have to retexture it?? That's your only option except paint it or keep it.
O's bobo isn't too bad. I miss him sooooooo much. Love you all.
We have paneling from the floor to ceiling to our living room...and we are tired of it... There is some new kind of paint (I call it bondo for walls...LOL...but I have no idea what it's called...LOL) that we are going to buy and paint it on and then paint color on top of it. It's a lot easier than pulling it off the wall! LOL... This stuff seales the indentions on the paneling so it will be a smooth surface so we can paint the texture we want on (I watch A LOT of HGTV...LOL)... But since your paneling is only on half the wall, you would have to match the above portion...I'm not good at that...LOL...so we are doing it the easy way...LOL...
Good luck!! I know that what ever you choose...it will look GREAT!! I can't wait to see pics of the whole house...
And I agree with DD, Owen's bobo doesn't look too bad. He's still a cutiepatootie!!!
Today is the day!! Good-bye sweet memories at 900 Highland Road and Hello new memories at Viking Circle. Love you! Please take care of yourself during all this move!! MOM
Owen really does not look as bad as I pictured. The only thing we have ever done with panelling was what we did at out house: we used Kiltz to paint over the panelling to help keep it from bleeding through and then painted over it. I too will miss the old place at 900 Highland Road. It was such a great place for a young married couple, but not big enough for a family. So you and Scott had to do the only thing you could. You will always have the old memories and now on to making new ones. Owen will have a wonderful time in his new home with the large yard to play in. See all of you in a few weeks. Sorry I don't get to talk to you more often. I guess I just need to call you during the week like I used to do. I just do not know the best time to call without disturbing your routine. Grandpa Coach
