Already?

Owen lost his first tooth!  And he went big.  No piddly warm-up baby bottom tooth.  Straight for front and center.

It's been loose for months, so I've had plenty of time to prepare for this event, but it was still a little dagger to my heart to see Owen without a front tooth.

"Please [Owen] leave tooth."  He's going to be a sentimental hoarder.  And he comes by it honestly since I never let the Tooth Fairy take my teeth either.  I read one book as a child about how the Tooth Fairy liked to use the teeth she gathered to pave the roads in Fairy Land and found that to be an unacceptable use of precious dental resources.

He was lit.  Up.  I read to him and put him to bed, and he could barely stop beaming that sweet, new little snaggletoothed smile.

My heart was hurting that I couldn't do FaceTime to see him in all his glory. Where did our baby go?

I can't believe it was his top tooth. Isn't it more common to lose the bottom teeth first? He looks precious! What did the tooth fairy bring him?

It surprised me too Aunt Pam! Tooth fairy brought a $2 bill and left a mess of fairy dust everywhere...

I would have loved to see Owen when he got the money and the fairy dust! What a great memory!

One of my students brought a $5 bill to school the tooth fairy brought him and I asked him if I could have it because I didn't have any money. I showed him my wallet, because my money is in a money clip, but he noticed I had credit cards and told me, "but you have credit cards." I know it made his day to get the money.

I meant to say Owen's day in the previous comment.
