Do you think I could have convinced the chief to move the fire truck so it wasn't half in shadow?
You know, just for the sake of photographic integrity.
Owen loved that one of the firemen had kid artwork on his locker.
The kids thought the most mundane things were fascinating- like that they had an oven and a potty and beds inside the firehouse. Owen is bragging about the substantial height of his own bed in the second photo. And no, it's not really that tall. I suspect he's inherited my tendency to exaggerate under the pressure of storytelling for an audience. We're not liars, just really socially awkward.
But you can believe everything I type on here.
Swear.

Wish we could have been there for that field trip. I know how much he enjoyed the fire station, the fire trucks, firemen and I bet he could tell everybody everything about all of it. Next week is our Ag Adventure Day. I wish he could be here for that. We have firemen and fire trucks come and demonstrate the fire fighting equipment they use; the EMT unit is here and they bring a small house with them that has low ceilings that teaches children how to crawl instead of walk out of houses that are on fire(they have simulated smoke above the kid's head), a dairy farmer comes and brings his milk cows to show the students where milk comes from (the kids are amazed that the cows who have a brown tint to them give white milk instead of chocolate milk), a man brings his sheep herding dogs to do a demonstration for the children on how the dogs work to herd the sheep; baby farm animals are brought for the kids to pet if they have a release to do so, shetland ponies are brought for the kids to sit on or ride if permission is given by their parents for that as well; reptiles and amphibians are brought for the kids to look at and finally different types of food that is grown on a farm is brought for the kids to taste as well as snow cones
are given away as a rest station.
Perfect follow-up to putting together a Lego fire station! Lots of memories being made and I'm so glad you were able to go too and document it!! Muah!!
